Why it matters

What’s actually
at stake.

Oil is the cheapest insurance your engine will ever get. Modern engines run tighter clearances, higher temperatures and more turbochargers than the engines most oil-change intervals were written for — and a turbo bearing spinning at 150,000rpm in coked oil is how a routine service becomes an engine replacement.

  • The right spec matters more than the brandManufacturers specify viscosity and approval standards for a reason. The wrong spec can starve variable-valve-timing actuators and turbo bearings.
  • Turbos punish long intervalsTurbocharged engines coke oil faster. Stretching a 5,000-mile interval to 10,000 is how oil galleries block up.
  • The inspection is the real valueYour car is on a lift with the underside exposed. That is the cheapest opportunity all year to catch a weeping seal or a splitting boot.
Frequently asked

Questions about
oil change & preventive maintenance.

With full-synthetic oil, most modern vehicles can go 5,000–7,500 miles between changes. Older vehicles or those using conventional oil typically need it every 3,000–5,000 miles. We’ll tell you the right interval for your specific car.
It depends on your vehicle and manufacturer recommendations. Some newer engines require full-synthetic. We’ll check your owner’s manual and let you know what’s recommended — and what’s worth the upgrade.
Usually 30–45 minutes including the multi-point inspection. If we find something that needs attention, we’ll call you before doing anything additional.
